People barking They’re calling the good old summer down They’re gonna have a filthy roll around June Birds are speaking They’re wondering why we’re singing High notes for the air to kiss onto the Moon But you love your tune And I love my tune And you love my tune And I love your tune In harmony they croon All throughout June Together they bloom Something like It’s a little bit like this Warm-sex-headaches Mine’s back again It’s my only friend, I’m gonna send an old lake-bottom to You Insects knowing yards are bathed in light They don’t sleep at night It’ll be alright, when my farmhouse is with You Haven’t seen you In years, your fragrance is pouring back With the mugginess of the black Midnight holiest way to say June’s my mother’s name Too
Anne, let’s die in some dim town My brown eyes wait to weigh us down The candles around the tub will drown In our afternoons Music from our evening parlor Darker than the autumn hour I gave my child twenty dollars For tearing at our moons Dark damp men muddied our house In my dreams to bleed your blouse I smiled from my sleep to douse The horror of this hour Our boy on dark hills blurry crawling His rain-glazed shaking porches falling The homes of all his friends just sprawling Withering like flowers Anne, I’ve loved you from a boy No other autumn could destroy The town our winds fused to enjoy Whispering dark farmlands Tearing moons, these moons are tearing Swearing terror inside their daring Crumbling prayers, dark autumns faring Straight out of our hands

We were once approached by a brewery who wanted to produce a "Dark Autumn Hour Ale" in honor of our song. We even recorded these alternate versions of two early Frontier Ruckus songs to accompany the release as a 7". The beer never happened, but here are the recordings!
